"Vows" Album by Kimbra Check it out

This picture is from Details Magazine
So many of you know have heard of Kimbra a New Zealand beauty by now, she was on Gotye "Somebody That I Used to Know" she has also released a song named "Warrior" she recorded with Mark Foster and A-Trak. Her album released today in the US. I think she has really good potential to break through the US with her amazing voice because her voice is so melodic and gritty at the same time. It does help that she is a good looking woman also and that she has amazing style.

Her songs off her album "Vows" sound of wanting some one, are super catchy lyrics, and have some amazing beats. The song "Settle Down" lyrics come straight from her album title, it is about settling down with some one. They sound so dreamy at the beginning.  "Cameo Lover" is very pop-electro  and the lyrics sound to me like they are about a part-time lover.

You can get her single "Cameo Lover" as a free download on iTunes, but I really recommend buying the Album you wont regret it, your ear buds will thank you for it.

"Vows" is really fun to listen to, Kimbra has some really funky beats on her songs. She definitely knows how to work with her voice in order to make it distinctive, she normally records her own voice singing the beats and plays it back as she signs along to the song.

Check out this video on YouTube.com of her performing at Bardot in LA. I wish I could have gone to this show, but I had to work and I had school in the morning. Here is another version of "Settle Down" by Kimbra click here.

Adding a Pop of color to your Outfit

Taken from www.pantone.com

I am loving this Spring/Summer colors 2012, they are all fun and work for all color skin types. I have already bought a a few items to add to my closet and my wardrobe to add that pop of color.

Here are a just a few ideas on how to make an outfit stand out a bit more:

I have recently purchased a pair of sandals for the summer, I was in Nordstrom Rack which is walking distance from where I live, I know bad idea right but so convenient. I was you know just browsing the shoe department when I spotted these beauties.

I have to say that I have never heard of the brand, but these are seriously the most comfortable shoes I have found in a very long time.

The other way to add color is by finding a great skinny belt in a neon color

Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect

Getting ready to head to the beach and I was thinking about what is another product I am in love with for the summer. I found this product last year when I was going and I thought I should share. Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect new product.

The sun block by the company not only gives you some protection but it adds a glow to your skin, making it look look more lustrous skin. I believe it only was sold in 8, 20 and 40 UVB/UVA when I bought it. It is part of one of their actual sun blocks since the company is known for their tanning lotions.

What I like about it is that when you need to shower it comes off easily and it smells so good. You can find this product at your local drug store.

Bronzer blush summer make-up Mac

So with summer just hitting us very soon and if your in Southern California we are are already feeling the hot weather I am making a list of a few must haves to keep in your beach bag. If spending a lot of time out in the sun is what you expect to do this summer, having that natural glow works best when you keep your make-up to the minimum.

A few items I have fallen in love with:

Mac Make-up has a few blushes that have shimmer in it, and act as a bronzer and highlights your check bones with the shimmer. I have used Sunbasque sheer tone shimmer blush.

Another Mac product I love to wear during the summer is Margin frost Powder blush. This has the shimmer but adds more color to your skin. Don't forget the water proof mascara and lip stain or lip gloss. You can find these at your local Mac Store or click here.

Clinique Dark Spot Corrector

Last year my face started breaking out on me really bad, not only do I have to deal with getting older, but I have to deal with my body changing on me. I don't like that now that I am an adult I have to face acne break outs, while when I was teenager my face was flawless.
This is me at the age of 23 with a bit of make-up on

So due to these nasty break outs my face has been left with the many battle scars of blemish marks, which has had me feeling insecure and well ugly. I have been able to finally control my acne, yay!

Now I have been trying different products that claim to remove such blemish marks and even out my skin. I tried one from Avon I bought from my mom when she was selling the product. I was using it for four months with no avail.

Then I tried one that my friend gave me, with no luck. Then I started seeing the Clinique Dark Spot corrector advertisements. I have always heard good things about Clinique, I used to use their compact when I was in High School. I decided to fork up the 50 bucks or so for the 1Fl. oz. bottle.

This is me now with no make-up
I have been using the product for a month now and I have noticed my skin more even toned and my blemish marks are reducing in size and getting lighter. The picture I posted of my skin is probably the bravest thing I have done. I am embarrassed about my skin but if I am writing letting you know about how this product is working for my skin I need to post pictures for you to believe me.

I will post an update picture in another month to let you know my progress with the lotion.

Sept 25 New No Doubt Album

Photo taken from Google.com

It seriously has been a very long time since I have felt excited for a band I love new album to come out. I believe it was when I was 17 and No Strings Attach by Nsync. Yes I even pre-ordered it from my local music shop.

It is now No Doubt's new album that has me feeling like a teenager again. The excitement of new music from a band that had taken a hiatus due to having babies, front woman Gwen Stefani releasing two solo Albums "Love Angle Music Baby" and "The Sweet Escape" and two clothing lines Harajuku Lovers and L.A.M.B.

It has been more than a decade that No Doubt fans have had to wait for new music from this So Cal band. Now the band has started releasing webisodes with sneak peaks of songs off their up-coming new Album set to release Sept. 25. In the first YouTube video we get to hear a part of "Push and Shove" a song off the album. Where you can definitely here Rasta Jamaican influence. Seriously I can't wait for this new Album. It has now been marked on my calendar.

Here is the link to the first Webisode click on  YouTube.

Making your own vintage, high waisted jean shorts

While my stay in London I noticed a lot of girls wearing high waisted jean shorts, with tights because it was freezing out there. I doubt anyone would be brave enough to wear them bare legged.

Going through my closet I remembered having a pair of high waisted 501 Levi's Jeans, which at one time were dark denim, but I have owned them since I was in junior high so they have lost their color.
Photo by: Trish Bucheli editor note: please excuse my fashion project mess in the background.

Even though, I would never wear these pants out because I had slit the bottom of them since that was the style back in the 90's, I never had the heart to throw them out. I also always liked knowing I could still fit into something which I used to wear when I was younger. So I pulled them out and decided to cut them into shorts. Making my own vintage shorts.

New Jean Shorts made by Trish Bucheli
So I grabbed a ruler and a pair of scissors and I started measuring the inseam. I wanted to make sure that I would cut the hem giving me enough extra fabric just incase I needed to fix it. I measured 5 inches from the inseam. I put them back on to check the length and decided to cut one more inch off. I folded the hem and presto I got new high waisted jean shorts.

I wanted a pair for myself because they make your waist look small and they definitely influence your assets.

This was a great way to taking something old and making them into something new. I am excited to start wearing these with summer just around the corner.

Why not try finding something old in your closet and making it into something new. Let me know what u come up with. Have fun! Oh an please don't blame me if you screw up.
